Terms of Use

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Acceptance

By downloading or using AquaLog, you agree to these Terms of Use and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.

Not a safety device

AquaLog is a logbook and training-aid app for informational purposes only. It is not dive-planning, decompression, or safety equipment, and its breath-training tools are not medical advice. Diving and breath-hold training carry inherent risks. Always train under proper supervision, follow your certification and dive computer, never freedive alone, and consult a physician before beginning any breath-hold program. You are solely responsible for your safety.

Subscriptions & purchases

AquaLog offers optional Premium subscriptions (monthly or yearly) and a one-time Lifetime purchase via Apple's in-app purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can manage or cancel them in your Apple ID settings. Payment is charged to your Apple account.

Your content and photo submissions

Dives, photos, and notes you create remain yours. Most of this content is stored on your device as explained in our Privacy Policy.

You may submit a photo to AquaLog's optional AI identification feature only if you own the photo or have permission to use and submit it. By tapping Continue & Identify, you confirm that you have those rights and authorize AquaLog and its service providers to transmit and process the photo solely to provide, secure, and support the identification feature. Do not submit unlawful, infringing, confidential, or harmful content.

AI identification

AI species identifications are estimates and may be incomplete or incorrect. Do not rely on them for medical treatment, food safety, wildlife handling, regulatory compliance, or personal safety. Photos submitted for identification are processed through Vercel and OpenAI as described in the Privacy Policy.

Third-party services and content

AquaLog uses Apple MapKit for maps and location search and the iNaturalist public API for species names and taxonomic information. AquaLog does not display iNaturalist user photographs. Third-party services may change, become unavailable, or provide incomplete or inaccurate results, and their respective terms and policies apply. Species information is provided by iNaturalist.

Acceptable use

You may not misuse the app or its online services, interfere with their operation, attempt to bypass usage limits, submit content you do not have the right to use, or use the app in violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

Disclaimer & liability

The app and third-party results are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on species identifications, location data, or training guidance. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves; the date above reflects the latest version.
